Top Gear Video - 1991 Acura Legend Coupe

Uncommon Sense is looking to Top Gear for inspiration, and rightly so! The BBC program is one of the greatest on television, with an estimated 350 million viewers worldwide. Hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammod review, test, and destroy cars on a weekly basis. And they do so with crispy fresh editing, to-the-point dialogue, and comedy that is unmatched in any other auto show. The great thing about Top Gear is that you don't have to be an automobile aficionado to appreciate the work that goes into every show. As a gearhead I can understand the carspeak from liters to BHP, yet that doesn't dissuade my mum from watching the show with me. It's the content that paces the program nearly perfectly. Where else can you see a review of a Lamborghini followed by the hosts launching cars from a homemade catapult? Nowhere!

You're probably thinking, "Yes yes, that's all great Jason, but what's you're point?" My point is that despite all the great and wonderful things about Top Gear, they only started this modern presentation around 2003, long after many classic cars were already discontinued. Sure, they often feature classic cars for their challenges or special reviews, but there are never reviews for consumer cars made between 1960 and 2002. This is where I got the idea to create my own mini review of a car that I hold dear to my heart; my 1991 Acura Legend Coupe. Touted as the first car Acura ever made, and loaded with features ahead of its time, the name Legend is certainly befitting. I've been gathering footage for the past two weeks and organizing what I'd like my angle to be, all while keeping Top Gear styling in my head. Look for the release in the next two weeks, it'll be big!
